River Valley Park are delighted to promote yet another great activity nearby in beautful Brittas Bay Wicklow – SURFING!!! Yes thats right. Brittas Bay Surf School is located approx 10 minutes from the Campsite (between the North and South car parks at Brittas Bay) where you will see the Billabong flags and the sign at the entrance. Brittas Bay Surf School operate the school from a private and secure free car park with safe and easy access to the beach, ensuring a friendly, safe and fun introduction to the exhilarating art of surfing. Brittas Bay Surf School offer Surf and SUP lessons daily and kids camps during school holidays. They also rent equipment including soft surfboards and SUP’s, sit on Kayaks and wetsuits.
The combination of adrenaline, idyllic Wicklow surroundings and the satisfaction of catching your first few waves ensures that you’ll have an unforgettable experience at Brittas Bay Surf School.
Safety is a priority as kids learn about tides, rips, dangers, hazards, weather, water safety, surf etiquette and of course surfing! Brittas Bay Surf School use soft safe ISA Approved surfboards that are easy to learn on and keep you warm with 5/3mm Billabong wetsuits. (Booties, hoods & gloves are also used from November until March). All of their instructors are fully qualified in either a Level 1 or Level 2 surf coaching, are qualified beach lifeguards and have a certificate in Child Protection.
