Kukoo Huts! A new way to camp in Ireland
The Kukoo hut is the latest addition to our glamping accommodation at River Valley Camping and Holiday Park Wicklow. Based on the design of a bird house, the Kukoo Hut is cleverly fitted out with an upper level bunk area, as well as a generious 5ft bed complete with sprung mattress on the lower ground level.
The Kukoo Hut has a small fridge and kettle. But please remember to bring your own sheets , pillowcases, duvet covers and towels as only duvets and pillows are supplied for the one double and two singles beds in the Kukoo Hut. Small logs are supplied for the pot-belly stove. Cutlery, delph, cooking utensils and barbeque trays are not supplied.
Natural Setting
Careful consideration has been given to the location of our wonderful new Kukoo Hut and even though there is a 100m walk to the toilet and shower facilities it is worth it for the privacy it brings. Located at the beginning of Flanagans walk with a small decking area looking out to the adjacent animal paddock.
Why a Kukoo Hut?
Wouldn’t you like to wake up to a bird chorus and enjoy a continental breakfast on the deck (fresh rolls are of course available in the shop only a leisurely stroll away)? After breakfast why not ramble around “Flanagans Walk” with beautiful views right out to the Irish Sea and the Wicklow mountains. Then chill out with a good book or newspaper before a light lunch in Mickey Finn’s Pub or mid day barbeque. Work it all off in the afternoon with a game of tennis, badminton, crazy golf or a round of Par 3 golf in adjacent course, or maybe some horse riding or even surfing for those truly energetic souls.
Get the evening barbeque started or drop into the Conservatory restaurant in Mickey Finn’s Pub with local steaks and delicious daily specials.
Enjoy some great music entertainment in Mickey Finn’s or simply sit back in the kukoo hut in front of the pot-bellied stove and enjoy the stars over a glass of wine..
Prices & Availability
As the Kukoo hut is located beside the Secret Garden (Adults only area) the unit is only available to adults and children over 7 years of age.
Cost is €65 per night Sunday to Thursday and €75 per night Friday and Saturday excluding Bank Holidays when the Kukoo Hut is €85 - Friday, Saturday and Sunday night! (Please note that there is also a refundable deposit of €50 on your key when you arrive!)
